Knights U14 Boys secured an impressive victory against Malahide in an exciting game last night. The Knights started strong with a solid lead in the first quarter and maintained their momentum throughout the game. The 13 point lead at the end of the first quarter would give Knights substantial breathing space for the rest of the game.
They would need this space in the second quarter as Malahide impressively held off the knights offence to scoring 6 points in the quarter. However, Knights defence would prevent Malahide desperately trying to narrow the 11 point gap by half time.
Knights managed to pull out a narrow victory in the third quarter. With both teams evenly matched, still the Knights managed to dig deep and and hold on tight to the 13-point lead heading into the final period of the game.
Falling behind early in the game would prove disastrous for Malahide. Despite their best efforts to rally, they simply couldn’t overcome the deficit. The defeat will undoubtedly be disappointing for Malahide but judging the last three quarters they are definitely a team to watch out for in 2024
